Having a home network gives one the ability to share different services among the computers that are part of the network in your home. Internet access, files & printers can all be accessed from several computers at the same time. Conceptually Home Network and RG may be designed as standalone but in real world they are hard-linked and depends mostly on available technologies, drivers, products. The interface between home/office network and access network is named Residential Gateway (RG). This object is a combination, more or less complex, of hardware and software, able to connect one or more than one access networks with one or more than one home or office networks.
